the moderator reported that Martha Salmond had come forward and confessed that she was guilty of fornication with James Armstrong and earnestly desired to be restored to the privilege of the church. Having expressed her deep sorrow and sincere peni tence and having been duly admonished and exhorted the moderator agreed to report the matter to the following meeting. Whereupon the session unanimously agreed to restore church membership ana authorized the moderator to administer the ordinance o f baptism to her child

At a meeting of the kirk session held in the session house, here on 30 apr we submitted a letter from you stating that Martha Salmond a member of our congregation an at present residing at Inchinnan , had given birth to an illegitimate child and desiring to now whether the kirk session of Kilbirnie would deal with the case according to Church form or transfered it to the kirk session at Inchinnan, Renfrewshire, Scotland. It was agreed to adop t the latter course and i was instructed to intermate the same to you-john fullion
